December Employee Spotlight – Bobbi Jo King

Bobbi Jo King
Abstractor

We’re excited to feature Bobbi Jo in our December Employee Spotlight!

Years at Capitol Lien: 15 years

  1. What have been some of the most important lessons you’ve learned throughout
    your career?
That change is inevitable and a must in the ever-changing real
estate market that we work in.
  1. Share a professional success story that you’re proud of. I can’t think of one
story, but something I am proud of is drawing legals! I always struggled with that, and then, many years into the job, it just clicked, and that was an incredible feeling.
  2. How do you think your role helped shape your team’s culture? I hope it has
shaped it positively by consistently demonstrating a strong work ethic and
creating a positive and supportive work environment.
  3. What do you love most about your job and why? I love all the different challenges
that come along working for this company. I went from part-time to full-time
abstractor, and then I did a lot of marketing and advertising locally, and then I got
to do closings for a while! Now Capitol Lien works in ALL the states! I absolutely
love all the different ways this company alters, shifts, and challenges its
    employees.
  4. What techniques help you stay organized and productive? I strive daily to keep
    my office neat and organized.
  5. What do you love to do in your free time? I moved last spring to a small house and a big
half-acre yard with many gardens and perennial plants. I had it all fenced in so my dogs
could run and play and be outside with me while I took care of the yard, plants, and
garden! So, I am learning how to garden now.
  6. What is a dream that you want to make come true one day? I dream of having a second
home in a warmer climate to stay at during the winter months.
  7. What is your greatest accomplishment? So far, my greatest accomplishment is my girls!
It may be cliche, but I am very proud of them. My oldest got accepted into grad school
for her master’s in nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner, so she will be moving to WI
to attend Marquette University! My youngest is in her senior year, and she is planning on
attending school for her RN. Soon, I will be an empty nester!
  8. What’s something most people don’t know about you? Dennis recruited me to work for
Capitol Lien via my resume on the workforce center website, and when I received an
email from him, I thought it was a scam. Working from home seemed too good to be
    true.
  9. Do you have any pets? Yes! I have 2 dogs that live with me and 1 that I raised that lives
with my daughter now. Sasha, siberian husky, 10 years old, lives with my daughter in
Fargo. Tito is a Yorkie, Shitzu and jack russell terrier, he is 4 years old. Ellie is our
rescue! We dognapped her a couple years ago from the yard she was in where she was
dying from starvation and sick. She is doing great now! She is a yellow lab about 7 years
    old.
