Job Title: Abstractor

Time at Capitol Lien: 3.5 months

1. What’s a unique skill or perspective you bring to your role at Capitol Lien?
   I worked as a Mortgage Processor for almost 10 years before Capitol Lien. I am familiar with the mortgage and title insurance process but was always curious about how the abstracting side worked.
2. Share a professional success story that you’re proud of OR What’s the most challenging project you’ve tackled, and how did you overcome it?
   As a Mortgage Processor, I trained a new team member who later went on to win ‘Rookie of the Year’ that year.
3. What’s your favorite part about collaborating with your team?
   Learning about each others’ experiences, both personal and professional.
4. What do you love most about your job and why?
   The people I work with. They’re super nice, intelligent, and always willing to help out. Which makes the learning process a lot smoother.
5. What’s one tool or resource you couldn’t do your job without? My teammates/co-workers.
6. What do you love to do in your free time?
   Anything outdoors. Sports, hiking, fishing, biking, relaxing under the shade.
7. If you won the lottery tomorrow, what’s the first thing you’d do?
   Request PTO and take a vacation somewhere.
8. What’s the best vacation you’ve ever taken, and what made it memorable? Paris 2024 for the Summer Olympics.
9. What’s your favorite holiday, and how do you usually celebrate it?
   Christmas. Presents, spending time with friends/family, eating good food, and playing games.
10. Do you have any pets?
    Yes, pet pigeons – racing pigeons. My brothers and I fly pigeons from up to hundreds of miles away and track which ones come home the fastest. At times, some don’t make it home at all 🙁
