Employee Spotlight: Fran Brinkman

Employee Spotlight: Fran Brinkman

She may need no introduction, but in case you don’t know her by now, meet Fran! Fran has been working at Capitol Lien for nearly 18 years! She is one of the friendly voices you may hear from if you call us or place an order.

Q: What do you do at Capitol Lien?

A: I monitor incoming order related emails and get them to our researchers. I also provide the front lines layer of customer service for those getting a hold of us to have their questions answered.

Q: What is the best part about your Capitol Lien Career?

A: I can’t remember ever being bored! I am always learning in this job. Occasionally I follow-up with employees via phone or chat, and so I am one of the few that gets to talk to just about everybody in our company – that’s the very best!!

Q: How did you get into this industry?

A: Long ago, I was referred to Capitol Lien by an employment agency through the Port Authority of Saint Paul. It really wasn’t much of an agency though, the office was in a rec center after all.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: Contrary to popular belief, it’s not shooting guns and 4-wheeling, although those can be fun. I enjoy gardening!

Q: What was your first-ever job?

A: My first ever job was with Von Schrader Company. At the time I made bags for a dry cleaner compound.

Q: Where would your dream vacation be?

A: My dream vacation would be to travel to Paris. I haven’t decided if it will be in Springtime or not.

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “As you wish.” – Westley from 1987’s cult-classic The Princess Bride

Q: What have you gained since working at Capitol Lien?

A: I have gained a wealth of knowledge about so many things I did not know existed.

Who would know what a UCC is??

Q: What is your favorite service we offer to our clients and why?

A: Property Research: It is so interesting to see the history of land and bring clarity to ownership for our clients.
