Karri Bauer Bass

Karri Bauer-Bass has been with us for almost 7 years (in June). A valuable member of our County Team, Karri provides excellent property research for her clients.
We are lucky to have her!

Q: What do you do at Capitol Lien?

A: I am a Licensed Abstractor on the County Team for Property Research.

Q: What is the best part about your Capitol Lien Career?

A: After working for several other companies, the best part for me, personally, is the benefits package and the job security that Capitol Lien offers. I have worked for other companies that either could not afford to, nor cared enough about their employees, to offer and contribute so many options.

Q: How did you get into this industry?

A: In 2002 I was in search of a job/career that would offer me benefits/health insurance for myself and my kiddos. I was working nights and weekends and I needed a job that had “bankers hours” so I could actually see my family. My friend was a closer at a title company and chatted with her boss, which led to an interview and I was then hired to type commitments.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: I ride my motorcycle and snuggle my granddaughter Ophelia.

Q: What is your greatest accomplishment?

A: Outside of the obvious, being my family… My greatest accomplishment was working in the field with the bravest people I ever met. I have been humbled by so many people in the Outdoor Education field, students and staff alike. I have witnessed true miracles in the woods. I have experienced the greatest joy and feared for my life on journeys with complete strangers. I know that I made a difference to certain students young and old, and those students changed my life forever.

Q: What did you want to be when growing up?

A: I wanted to be a Forest Ranger. I started my collegiate career majoring in Forestry, but didn’t have the money to continue, so I waited until I turned 24 and was financially free of my mother in the eyes of the government, and went back to school. However, this time I focussed more on folks with disabilities and how the wilderness could best serve them. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Education focusing on Special Populations.

Q: Where would your dream vacation be?

A: My dream vacation would be to pack up the motorcycles and venture off with my hubby, Rob, on a world tour. I really want to explore Wales, Ireland and Scotland, and everywhere really!! Experiencing different cultures and riding our way across the world is the dream. This is most definitely my “when I win the lottery” vacation!

Q: What have you gained since working at Capitol Lien?

A: I think for the first time I have stopped stressing about finances and stability for my family. I have the ability to be independent if I choose to do so. The freedom of choice is a true blessing.

Q: What is your favorite service we offer to our clients and why?

A: My favorite services are the ones that I help to deliver each day in the County side of the business relating to real estate research. My goal is to keep the customers happy and loyal to Capitol Lien so I can keep coming to work.
